POPLAR FILM SCHOOL
Hands-on film-making courses for young people
Poplar Film School was originally created in response to a call for out-of-school projects to help achieve young people’s educational attainment in specific areas of Tower Hamlets. The programme ran from 2005 to 2006.
The scheme targeted young people in need of additional support at Key Stages 3 and 4. It was designed to develop literacy and IT skills through the film-making process, enable participants to gain practical film-making skills and to help their creative, social and personal development.
There are two models for delivering programmes such as Poplar Film School:
- A term of after-school sessions including a half-term intensive week
- Intensive week-long courses
Short films produced by Poplar Film School include mini dramas Bully and The Clash.
We can tailor courses such as Poplar Film School to meet your specific needs and objectives.
